| Utah Couple, Under Probation for Trading in Counterfeit Viagra, Gets Reprieve In Court |

Douglas Carlton Hewitt and Angela Peterson Hewitt, a Utah County couple was arrested and later sentenced to probation in 2006 for trading in counterfeit medicines but after the couple extended its help to the federal prosecutors in continuing with their investigation and arresting a Chinese dealer, they were spared the prison term that they were still to serve.
After being caught receiving and selling fake versions of the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra as well as Cialis , as part of an international drug smuggling racket, the couple appeared for the court hearing in 2006 and in the hearing US District Court Judge David Sam slapped a three years` probation on them. Recently, in the midst of their prison sentence, the couple appeared at David Sam's court again and this time the “substantial evidence” offered by the couple in assisting the government to bring people involved in counterfeit drug trafficking to book was highlighted and as a consequence the judge reprieved them from serving the remaining probation period
