In a move towards the utilization of technology to enhance product effectiveness, Pfizer Incl., the maker of the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra continued with a 14 months long pilot program to tag all bottles of Viagra available for sale in the USA . After the completion of Pfizer's experiment, the details on the Viagra RFID Pilot Program titled “ Viagra RFID: One Year Later ” containing all the particulars was published by RFID a few weeks back. The article “ Viagra RFID: One Year Later ” was authored by Tim Marsh, a senior manager at Pfizer Global Package Technology and it threw light on the conclusions derived from Pfizer's 14-month-long pilot program.
Tim Marsh, the Pfizer official was upbeat at the success shown by the technology and as satisfactory results became evident; he pronounced that the conclusions derived from the RFID Pilot Program revealed the way technology can be utilized as a pharmaceutical packager to ensure maximum productive results. He also added that success in connection with the Viagra RFID pilot program is the end result of serious experimentation and in order to extract the maximum advantage, RFID users require to restructure some of their business processes.
Pfizer also expressed hope that the publication of the company's data related to Viagra tagging in an RFID update will encourage others to move ahead and start using their own RFID pilots.
