According to a review which appeared in the current issue of "T he Cochrane Library", in comparison to the people administered with placebos, the erectile dysfunction patients who had taken Viagra and other PDE5 inhibitors like Cialis and Levitra had 26.7 percent more successful intercourse attempts.
The review was based on eight studies in which 1,759 erectile dysfunction afflicted men among which almost 80 percent were suffering from type 2 diabetes and the others were in the grip of Type 1 diabetes. Half of them were administered with the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra and the rest were given placebo dosages.
Almost all these eight studies lasted for twelve weeks and no striking difference among treatment groups was noted regarding the age, medical history and the duration of diabetes or erectile dysfunction.
The review has been conducted by The Cochrane Collaboration, an organization that owns "T he Cochrane Library" and carries research on almost all healthcare aspects.
