Two undercover narcotics officers arrested a Near West Side man for trying to sell illegal Viagra to them at a CTA train station in the Near North Side area of Chicago.
Maurice Hope, 41 mistook the two undercover agents as customers looking for Viagra. He offered the erectile dysfunction pill to the officers, who were walking around in the stairwell of the Clark and Division CTA Red Line station at 1200 N. According to court records, he was trading the wares at $5 for a pill.
When the officers showed their interest to buy the pill, Hope took out a bottle of medicine from his jacket and poured out the blue-colored pills. At that instant, the officers revealed their identity and arrested him.
Hope was produced in the Cook County Criminal Court, where judge Thomas Hennelly charged him for the unauthorized possession and sale of a controlled substance.
