Parker & Waichman LLP has filed a suit against Pfizer on behalf of a victim who was diagnosed with Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION) after using Viagra for four and half years.
According to the suit filed in the Unites States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the plaintiff had no serious eye problems before he began the use of Viagra in July 1998. He was diagnosed with NAION only after he started using Viagra. The victim, who had been using Viagra till January 2003, has made significant financial loses in terms of medical expenses, lost pay and would continue to do so in the future. The victim has sued the company for the faulty and defective made of Viagra and the failure of Pfizer to issue a prior notice regarding possible vision loss with the use of Viagra.
Pfizer’s warning on the possible occurrence of NAION due to Viagra use came only after the FDA alert in 2005. Parker & Waichman, LLP, a leading products liability and personal injury law firm based in New York, is confident of getting a fair settlement and compensation for the victim as the period of Viagra use fall before Pfizer’s labeling of the warning.
