Four medicines, including one herbal viagra and other three herbal drugs containing sildenafil and tadalafil tested positive on erectile dysfunction and weight loss patients which has further sent shock waves across the world. An inquiry initiated by the Ministry of Health Medicines Safety Authority, Medsafe yielded these results and it was also found that these drugs are banned in New Zealand for the fear that they might trigger out unwanted health results.
The products had s ymbol on their label and were named Meng Rong and Yixinjiaonang. The three herbal medicines contained sildenafil and tadalafil and the fourth product Reduce Weight had a substance called sibutramine which is generally utilized in the treatment of obesity. The fact which has later come to light is that all these drugs are undeclared prescription medicines for which these may be very harmful to the patients opting for them.
Further, sildenafil and tadalafil disastrously reacts with medicines used for heart diseases and as such they may produce life threatening situations.
Sibutramine, the ingredient found in the fourth product leads to a drastic rise in blood pressure as well as in heart rate and is therefore harmful especially for people with diseases such as liver or kidney problem, mental disease and glaucoma.
