Pfizer has come out with a brand new spot for Viagra, in their latest line of action to promote the erectile dysfunction drug among the next generation.
Pfizer, the biggest player in the erectile drug market has introduced a whole new series of Viagra spots in the past one week. The tone of the Viagra spots is on a totally different note from the earlier versions, as there is a hint of other alternative treatments to Viagra than just the usual impetus on the efficacy of the drug.
In one Viagra spot conceptualized by McCann Erickson, a young couple is shown watching a late night game of baseball, but there is a clear indication that the woman has other things than just the ballgame in mind. The woman leaves the room to head upstairs, strongly hinting and emphasizing her physical desires through her body language. Then a voiceover comes, "They say in life there's only room for one great pleasure..unless you're really clever". The man then videotapes the game on TV and goes upstairs. The spot then zooms in on a doctor promoting Viagra saying, "Viagra is one of the many treatments for erectile dysfunction that your doctor may consider."
A statement from Pfizer said the Viagra ad will be aired only during appropriate time slots, when the majority of the viewers are adults.
