Date: March 6, 2006
A Martin County judge approved an agreement signed between the Martin County Commission and the family of a teenage boy, who was forced to take Viagra. The settlement was arrived after a long time, as the incident happened in 2002.
In the summer of 2002, the boy claimed that he was forced to eat laxatives and brownies that contain Viagra by fire fighters, while he was doing community service at the local Martin County fire station. The boy was hospitalized that summer after taking the treats he was forced with. But the county attorneys argued that the hospitalization was due to other prior medical condition of the boy, as he never ate the Viagra-laced brownies.
However, both the parties were willing to leave the incident behind them. Martin Circuit Judge Robert Makemson had agreed to approve the settlement between them. The county had to shell out a sum of $20, 000 to the family of the teenager as damage to the plaintiff. The Martin County Court would give the final approval tomorrow.
