Vigor-25, a dietary supplement manufactured and supplied by a Farmingdale man Yvonne Zhang was arrested on charges of dealing in misbranded drugs. It was recently uncovered that Vigor-25 did not contain rare Chinese herbs as primary ingredient but instead a generic version of chief Viagra ingredient as the primary component. Sources state that Yvonne Zhang promoted the drug by advertising that the medicine was composed of natural ingredients such as Chinese yam, cnidium fruit or cassia, rhizome et al.
After being arrested Yvonne Zhang was granted $25,000 bail by E. Thomas Boyle, the U.S. Magistrate and now it becomes apparent that if convicted in the case, he is likely to be incarcerated for a period of three years.
Greenvalley, the company owned by the accused Yvonne Zhang, manufactured Vigor-25 by mixing herbal products with generic Viagra versions.
Nicole Boeckmann, the prosecutor of the case declined to make any pronouncement with regard to case details and the chief spokesman of the U.S. attorney's office Robert Nardoza and Joseph Conway, the attorney handling the case on behalf of the accused, also refused to make any comments.
Papers filed in court by Nasiatka, the FDA agent stressed that the government would be thoroughly concerned if people afflicted with heart disease consume such substances unknowingly, they could land on a death bed.
