In a raid carried out by Raeford Police, ALE agents and Sheriff's Narcotics Officers teams at three business stores in Hoke County, a whole array of illegal medicines are reportedly seized that include boxes containing the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra , birth control pills, antibiotics et al.

It has become evident that these medicines were being distributed without prescriptions and a whole lot of them are found to be sold off over-the-counter. Concerning the illegal distribution of these medicines, Maj. Gary Hammonds, the chief deputy stated that these drugs can be very hazardous to health as penicillin and other similar medicines are not meant for people who are allergic to such medications. He further clarified that if these drugs are stored in vials and distributed by shot needles, they can be potentially dangerous to health.

However, after the raid at the three stores containing illegal medicines, charges were slapped on the store owners, including the charge of distributing medicines without a valid license.
