In a recent incident, 16 Nepalese men died while looking for yarshagumba (cordyceps sinensis) also known as Himalayan Viagra in the hilly district situated 240 kilometers northwest of Kathmandu . It was known that the death of the men occurred when heavy snowfall wreaked havoc on their camp. In Nepal , village folks in thousands leave their homes in the harvesting season, especially June and July to collect the Himalayan Viagra which is a famous aphrodisiac.

Details collected on Yarshagumba make it apparent that this exceptional Himalayan Viagra is utilized as a well known health tonic and aphrodisiac in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries and is available in meadows above 3,500 meters. It forms when a parasitic fungus lodges itself in caterpillars and slowly kills them.

Further reports indicate that in Nepal a single kilogram of Himalayan Viagra costs as much as 3,000 dollars.
