A Nigeria-born surgeon, Dr Jonathan Bala was accused of illegally prescribing himself the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra and as soon as the accusations against him were established at Caernarfon Crown Court, a two years` suspension as well as a six-month sentence was slapped on him.

Sources reveal that while he was employed at Llandudno Hospital , he dishonestly used his sister-in-law's name to procure Viagra but when he ordered a whole array of Viagra tablets from an Asda pharmacy, the pharmacist became suspicious and as a consequence he landed up in judicial custody.

However, in the latest Medical Council hearing held in Manchester recently, the Ormskirk surgeon Dr Jonathan Bala stated that he had realized his mistake and expressed sorry for what he did.
