Viagra, the erectile dysfunction drug has been proved an efficient form of treatment for impotency afflicted patients suffering from prostate and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) relating to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in an experiment conducted by the Professor of urology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Kevin V. McVary and his team of associates.
In the clinical trial, the patient were administered with Viagra dosages at bedtime or 30 minutes to one hour before having sexual intercourse and it was observed that they were considerably relieved from the fetters of erectile dysfunction and also from the grip of the prostate and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).
The trial performed by the group of researchers was a double-blind, placebo (fake pill)-controlled experiment that lasted for a period of 12 weeks and as the results were out, it was found that the erectile dysfunction patients had significantly improved self-esteem and quality of life after the administration of Viagra.
The lead researcher Kevin V. McVary gathered the results and displayed them at a meeting organized by the Sexual Medicine Society of North America on November 21 in Now York.
