In an experiment conducted by Dr. Hayley Matic at Deakin University's School of Psychology under the guidance of Professor Marita McCabe, it became evident that even though PDE 5 inhibitors such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are capable of restoring male sexual function, it doesn`t mean that they lead to the restoration of overall male sexual health.
In the research study undertaken by Dr. Hayley Matic, 410 Australian men suffering from erectile dysfunction and 342 men who were not affected by impotency were enrolled and the experiment was primarily focused at the help seeking behavioral pattern of men and the apparent help they gain from medicines that treat their erectile dysfunction.
According to Dr. Hayley Matic, men suffering from erectile dysfunction constantly suffer from a host of medical conditions like problems related to relationship and sexual satisfaction, low self esteem, low sense of masculinity and other problems. As the experiment draws to a close, it has become evident that men in whose treatment psychological and relationship problems are ignored and are treated with only oral erectile dysfunction pills are unable to restore complete sexual health. They continuously suffer from self esteem problems, problems in quality of life after their treatment with PDE 5 inhibitors is stopped.
